In 2008 James Nathan left his career as a barrister and won BBC’s Amateur MasterChef Competition. Since then he has developed as a professional chef by working for some outstanding chefs.

They include:

Michel Roux JR, Le Gavroche (2 Michelin Stars)

Michael Caines, The Bath Priory and Gidleigh Park (2 Michelin Stars)

Michel and Sebastian Bras, ‘Bras’ (3 Michelin Stars, France)

Rick Stein, The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow

When James arrived with us, bathed in glory having won MasterChef, quietly we didn’t think he’d survive a busy kitchen.  Three years later he left to set up on his own with our complete admiration.  Not only does he cook like a dream but he’s also very personable, which in my opinion is almost as important when cooking for people at home.

James is a wonderfully talented chef with a real passion for food. Since winning Master Chef he has gone onto work in some of Britain’s top restaurants including some time working with me. He’s now using all that experience to create some imaginative and great tasting foods for all to enjoy.
